Webs UP!

We got that new Miles Morales trailer for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse” and it’s got me wondering… How many Spider-Men are there? I’m guessing it’s infinite but let’s talk about some fan favorites we know. Of course, we got Miles Morales (Earth-1610 in the comics), who’s a teenager with spider-like abilities similar to Peter Parker’s. We’ve seen him come into his own in “Into the Spider-verse” so now I think he’s ready to roll.

Troubled Leader?

The new trailer gives us a closer look at our new antagonist though and that’s Miguel O’Hara from Earth-928 (in the comics) aka The Spider-Man of the year 2099. The new story info we get seems to show a man that may be cracking under the weight of not only the knowledge of the Spider-verse but also (maybe) the feeling of responsibility to ‘keep it in line’.

Since the Spider-Verse is a multiverse within the Marvel universe (or MCU) that features multiple versions of Spiderman from different universes it was also good to get a reference to Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” as well as Dr. Strange. The tone and phrasing by Miguel wasn’t too cheery in reference to them though lol.

Who else we got?

On the flip, we already know Spider-Man Noir (Earth-90214) and Spider-Ham (Earth-8311) but excuse me if I missed it but I didn’t see Penny at all. Who did we see? Gwen Stacy (Earth-65), who looks to be getting just a bit closer to ya boy Miles in this trailer which makes sense for me since they’ve shared tender moments in the comics already. I think I’m ready for a lil puppy love. Interdimensional romance is good for the soul lol.

Back to the topic though, there are many different versions of Spider-Man across media (since we did see the Playstation/Insomniac Games Spidey) and since we’ve seen the likes of Ben Reilly (Earth-616) and Spider-Punk; I wonder if we’ll see Madame Web. That could be REALLY cool.

Anyway, I’m out. Holla for more Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse talk below!
